Organised around Olympique Lyonnais, a men’s soccer club founded in 1950, the OL group has become a prominent player in the sports and major events sector within the Lyon metropolitan area.
Since the opening of Olympique Lyonnais’s private stadium in January 2016 (the “Groupama Stadium”), the group has launched numerous initiatives to promote the stadium beyond soccer, notably by organizing large-scale sporting, cultural, and corporate events.
The Group’s operations are thus organized around six complementary business segments:
- TICKETING
- MARKETING AND TV RIGHTS
- PARTNERSHIPS AND ADVERTISING
- BRANDED MERCHANDISE
- EVENTS
- PLAYER TRANSFERS
The youth academy, “OL Academy”—ranked among the best in Europe—and the recruitment of young talent are fundamental to the Group’s strategy, which aims to maximize the potential of its players, both athletically and economically.
The Group’s parent company, historically known as “OL Groupe SA” (renamed “Eagle Football Group SA” in 2024, and soon to revert to its historical name), is listed on the Euronext Paris stock exchange.
The women’s team, OL Lyonnes, was sold to Michele Kang in February 2024 and is managed separately.
In 2024, OL Groupe changed its corporate name to Eagle Football Group.
